Thanks for the information @turbo19

This post is offered in case it provides information that is useful. Similar set up, different experience. I'm not saying it is better or will solve your problem. But something in here may suggest something to you - because I have never had BT disconnect as you have.

My experience with music via BT from the phone is limited. I checked it out at lenght with the Zumo 595 when the spotify app worked. But it was a disaster. It would work at home, but on the move, it kept cutting out. And the more I ignored it, the worse it got.

I stopped trying to fix it - hence my limited experience. If I want music - which is rare - I use the Zumo's MP3 Player.

I have an XT2 with an Android phone and a Cardo Packtalk Edge. This setup has been 100% reliable.

But
I updated Tread to 2.09.51 yesterday and have yet to try it.

I do not have a BT link between my phone and the Cardo. Once the Cardo is set up by using the phone app, I break that connection. My only reason for doing this is that I suspected that having the set up shown below:

Cardo <----------------->Phone AND Phone <----->XT2<----->Cardo

might present a few issues. I don't know whether it would or not but it looks like a loop to me - so my instinct was to prevent it.

So my Zumo XT2 is paired to my Cardo as a second phone.
That leaves the first phone channel free to connect to the Cardo App without disturbing anything else.

I heve never knowingly had the tread app running on the screen of my phone when riding - so it never synchs while on the move. With the Android, traffic, weather, messages still come through even when the app has been swiped off the screen. I don't know whether that is the case with the iphone.

Did your break in the BT connection happen before 2.09.51 came out (22 Oct 24) ?

Just posing the question. I don't need an answer.

Hi @jfheath ,

yes, my setup is always between phone/XT2 and Cardo/XT2. Never Cardo/Telephone. Right now I have it on the "phone 2" channel with the XT2, without the "calls" option. This way everything works fine. I will try to connect channel 1 only with calls to the motorcycle's TFT.
The problem is that as soon as I put the calls function on the Cardo with the XT2, the interruptions start. Without that option there is no problem. Bluetooth mystery.
Thank you very much ;)
I have opened another post for these topics, so as not to mix it with the Tread APP updates.

You have to make the connection: Phone to Cardo, in order to set up the headset the way that you want it. So it must have been there once. I wondered whether or not that connection still exists. If you didn't delete it, then it will be and may be a factor. You would have to forget / unpair the Cardo connection on the phone.

Ok - Im tagging onto this thread because I just had similar "Bluetooth Disconnects" issues.

I am using the same set up that I used with the XT1 and it worked flawlessly:

Cardo Pactalk Edge
Samsung Android phone

Zumo as the hub. No connection between phone and headset.

Phone call comes through on the phone. Xt2 displays message and phone is answered automatically.
Phone call takes place normally.
Call ends.

This is where it becomes different from the XT1.

I am not sure that the call disconnects when the caller hangs up at their end. It was obvious on the XT, but cannot remember why.

After a couple of minutes the XT2 reports that the phone (BT) is disconnected.
A short while later it report BT is disabled.

The same thing happened twice while on the bike for calls that I placed from the XT2.
(I stop in a layby, place the call and set off again to continue conversation while riding.

Turning the satnav off - standby - short press the button on the rear, then turning it on again and BT connects everything again.

No problems with BT at any other time. Music from MP3 folder is superb. No issues during call.
Tread app is always swiped off the phone screen.

I find that using gloves on the XT2 screen is terrible. wrong button pressed, it even carries out actions for which there are no buttons on the screen !!!

I'll lodge this support.

Please @jfheath , it would be very helpful if you reported this error to Garmin technical service, they tell me that "there is no user with the same problem." I don't believe it.

Please, it is very important that all users who have the same problem send it to technical service so that engineering can do something. Thank you so much. ;)

- The problem of Bluetooth interruptions with Tread App enabled during synchronization or calls is not solved.

"Local Spots" is in the Driver Assistance tab and was set to "on" when I powered up my XT2 after the update.

Ah - I do. Goodness me. But I don't just go to them with a problem - I go to them with a set of well documented evidence. That cuts out all of the try this, try that, try the other. So for example - I am sitting here at my desk with my crash helmet on, Zumo XT2 powered by a spare XT1 cradle on my desk. Video camera pointing at it. Trying to work out exactly when the BT connection is broken.

This is so that I can tell them when it breaks and how to get it to return (you wont believe the answer to that last one !!). Then they are going to make out that it is the fault of the phone. So I need to prove to them that isn't the case - because with the same gear with the XT1 it works perfectly OK, and with the same gear with the 595 it works perfectly OK.

Then I will find out what happens if I disable the Tread App with the XT2.

See what I mean ? Give them no way out. But it does mean that lots of people have to report it. But I'm not the one that you need to push to do that. I do it anyway. If you want to help, get onto some of the other forums - simple - point out the fault, say you have reported it and ask others to report it too if they have the same issue.

I was on at them for 2 whole years with the XT RUT issue. The weird routing behaviour after a route has been recalculated and you deviate from the plotted line. It never calculates a new route to the next route point. Instead it calculates to the last point that it calculated - which is usually behind you. They never fixed it for the XT1. They seem to have addressed the symptoms for the XT2 (it seems to limit the number of successive U turn requests, but still allows 'turn around loops'). But the RUT issue still exists on the XT2.

Still it is good to see that they can introduce new hardware that makes them more money, and they can at last get rid of the end of ride adverts.

I queried progress with the routes from GPX files being altered by the Tread app. " It's on-going".
I don't know whether I believe that or not.....................

Right - lets try to repeat all of those test again with 4.80 installed. Thanks for the info on that.
