Glad you found it, because I wasn't sure if I could remember all the steps...

As it turned out, I think screen displays might have changed - I was unsure about which bit to ignore. I've just done it though and it is exactly what I hoped for - but when I tried before I couldn't find an obvious section to ignore.

Then I thought I would give Tread a serious exercise - see if it was what I hoped that it would be. It tries to be all that I hoped it would be, but I haven't found a part of it which actually works to my satisfaction. I always liked the collections idea from the XT1 / Explore system - so it is good that that has all been introduced to the XT2.

I've just dropped @Javelin16 a private message. I re-read the 13 pages of posts in which he found, tested and reported these issues long before I had ever set eyes on an XT2. I was trying to help him with the bits that I thought might apply from the XT1. But I had forgotten much of that research and conversation - around 10 months ago. It was nice to revisit it and realise how much effort he had put into problems that I hadn't even encountered. And your scattered contributions contained some real insights !

New Tread version for Android:

2.09.57 (2024-11-27)

- Same Bluetooth disconnection problems if you sync a collection and there is a phone call.
- I have tried resetting everything, even with new accounts but the problem persists.

1) "Fastest" routing doesn't produce a route that's the shortest time
2) "Shortest" routing doesn't produce a route that's the least distance
3) Producing a route using shaping points, changing them to "stops" and then back to shaping points moves the location, and then the route can follow different roads.

I think that now the movement of shaping points is improved in a route, as I'm pretty sure before you couldn't easily move them, and so had to make them into "stops" to do this. Now the shaping point can be moved.

Yet to see how the above interacts when synched to my XT2.

Videos of 1, 2 & 3 sent to Garmin Support due to the open case I have for #3 last night.

It seems that since the Gps Tread 2 was released Garmin is putting more effort into the Tread App.

2.09.57 Added a couple of interesting options to the Tread App's Route Planner:

• Insert a Track. Once a segment of route has been selected, you can insert a track that is then included as part of the currently selected segment. I take this one back. It didn't do this the next time I tried. I must have misinterpreted what I saw on the screen.
• 'Nearby' does not appear on the main menu. Instead, the most likely options are displayed: Insert Stop; Insert Shaping Point; Insert a track; Insert a named road. The other items nearby now appear in the 'More' Submenu. (LHS Image)
• The 'More' submenu now contains most of the items that appeared in the previous 'Nearby' menu (RHS image)
