Bike vs car mode difference?

Say, aside from the fuel, what is the difference between the two??
If doing a long road trip in a car, does it make sense to switch from bike mode?
Are settings like sound or anything saved per vehicle and switched??
1st Garmin, so sorry if these sound like dumb questions.
Thanks for your time.
(got the car kit, so i can use the xt trailering the bikes to the good stuff)

The manual says “routing and navigation are calculated differently based on your transportation mode.” I’d look at things like faster or shorter route and avoidances like dirt roads, highways or tolls.

The internal speaker is also activated in the 'car' mode.

Garmin TPMS sensors are disabled in the car mode.
I use the 595 in both truck and on bike without switching anything. AFAIK, it really makes no difference.

The settings can be different for car and bike, but if they were all the same, then apart from the speaker and fuel gauge, I don't know of any other differences. But, as the bike uses Bluetooth for spoken directions versus the speaker, how phone calls are handled may also be different, and you may not hear the spoken directions etc if in the car, and the GPS is in bike mode.

Strange there is not much about this 'Transportation mode' in the manual.
Some settings (ie 'Map & Vehicle' and 'Navigation') can be set per transportation mode. AT the settings page you will see a icon of a car, motorcycle or wheel depending in the transportation mode you selected if these settings are mode specific.

there might be more things that differ amongst these modes. ie the Fuel gauge is only active in the motorcycle mode.
As rbentnail said TPMS sensors are disabled in car mode (but they are not available anyways on the XT)

XT does not support TPMS!

I don't know about that... I use an independent TPMS on the bike so it doesn't matter if I have the GPS mounted or not, and I don't mount the GPS for my daily commutes.
