More knowlegeable people will be along soon, but I think that Google killed that option as before you could open it up from Basecamp and do the street view from a waypoint etc, not any more

Yes, unfortunately it can still be done but Google have blocked the streetview part, if that's important to you the work around is to export data from BC as a kml file and open it with GE.
