Hi, When I connect my 396 to my laptop and open Garmin Express, map details is showing Middle East and North Africa. How do I go back to the Full Map of Europe, which I believe I had when I purchased the device. There is an update of Full Coverage of Europe waiting to be installed, but when I try and install the update, I get and error message " Error installing update"
Internal storage on my device shows 9.91gb free of 14.2 gb.
The SD card show 14.8gb free of14.8

Is your 396 a travel edition? If not I can't understand how you would have that map?

I dont know what you mean by a travel edition.

What maps your Garmin came with. Go to Settings / Map & Vehicle / My Maps and see what's there and if checked.

OK, so you do have the Euro maps. I don't know about Garmin Express, but if you connect to BaseCamp you should see Europe (just click on it in the "Maps" on top)

Did you buy this from new? If it's not the travel edition then the Middle East maps shouldn't be there, unless you have somehow put them there or you've been sold a refurbished unit which previously had the ME maps and they've been left on there.

The fact you've got CN EU 2022.20 All North indicates you should also have CN EU 2022.20 South, and Express should have installed that too, if not then please explain how did you get the North map?

Hi, I bought from new, still have the box. I have no idea where/when the ME and Africa came from. When I open Basecamp it is showing internal storage City Navigator Europe 2022.2 and the ME and N Africa
Which brings me to another question. Which map is better. City Navigator Europe or Full coverage Europe?

Not sure what you mean, the City Navigator or CN maps are the same, whether it's the full map or a subset of it. Sounds like you have a refurbished unit then as the ME maps shouldn't be there. If it's a recent purchase I'd take it back to the retailer if it was sold to you as new.

My Question about the maps, I was wondering which map is better. City Navigator Europe NTU 2022.2 or Full Coverage Europe 2022.1, which is the map that fails to download.
