[Zumo 396 and Cardo Freecom 1+] can't answer calls hands-free?

Hello all,
I paired my phone (xiaomi A2) to a Cardo Freecom 1+ intercom (on Cardo FC 1+ channel 1).
If I get a call I can answer hands-free using voice.
This is fine.
But then, I pair the Cardo Freecom 1+ to the GPS Zumo 396 (on Cardo FC 1+ channel 2) and problems arise.
Now, when I get a call, I can't answer hands-free anymore; I can only answer by pressing a button on the Zumo screen (extremely dangerous, while riding).
I can't use the Cardo FC 1+ buttons either: they are unresponsive.
How can I get a scenario when I can see the caller ID on the Zumo screen and answer hands-free using voice?
TIA
tony

Welcome to the forum

It is normal for the phone to be paired to the Zumo and the Zumo to be paired to the headset.
Most problems that I have read about are due to people pairing the phone to the headset, when the Zumo should be at the centre of the 3 devices.

Thanks for your reply,
But what happens if the zumo is off? My phone is not paired with the headset, so I can't answer calls using the phone...
This way, it seems that I must turn on the GPS even when I go to work/home...

Perhaps I found a viable Solution:
1- set zumo as the center device;
2 - pair headset with phone for everyday rides (zumo is off) ;
3- remove the headset pairing from the phone when going for a gps ride (zumo is on) ;
There is no need to re-pair the zumo after Point 3.
Once I'm back from a GPS ride and don't need GPS anymore, I would just re-pair the headset with My phone.
Not so elegant, but it almost work.
