Road closed - but you're still on the fastest route!

I really like the XT save for a few niggles such as my 1200 tiger explorer screen killing the satellite reception.. but, annoyingly when I've set a destination and excluded motorways, the xt often gives a 'road closed a head' along with a your on the fastest route message. it actually takes me to the closure and then stops and doesn't automatically reroute.

I have auto re-route turned on and can't figure out what, if anything I'm doing wrong..

Any recommendations would be most welcome...

In Settings > Traffic > Optimize Route, the "On Request" option may be the better on since "Automatic" appears to be dependent on the XT making a determination about whether a re-route will result in sufficient savings.
