I was intending to update the maps on my 660, Express shows Western Europe 2024.10 is available. I wanted to install it to my 32GB card (already in the 660) but Mapinstall only offers CN Europe NT 2022.1 or NTU 2023.1---no option of 2024.10. Can anyone throw some light in my direction please? Basecamp shows NT 2023.1 as being installed on the 660.
Thanks, Pete.

I have never used MapInstall but my limited understanding of it is that it transfers maps that are installed on a computer to a device. Basically, it is the opposite of using Express to install a map that is on a device to a PC.

Hi all, i believe mapinstall is used with mapsource which is used with the 550 and 660. They use the nt maps and the 590/595 and xt use the ntu maps. The nt maps have not been updated for over a year.

I'm installing 2024.10 to my PC, will then see if Mapinstall can install to my SD card.

That's what I did and it worked a treat.

MapInstall installs maps already on your computer to your device, it doesn't update devices

It seems you have to load one of the offered Europe segments to gain the unlock codes, once you have got the area loaded, use Mapinstall to load the missing areas, this is restricted in terms of data, but you can select the maximum area you need and leave out areas you are not travelling to.
Don't expect to load routes sent via e-mail or created elsewhere without having them recalculate on transfer to your unit(660), as despite using Mapinstall your unit maps which were not in the Express transfer do not appear to be recognised as the latest version and auto recalculate with all the problems it brings will occur.
This may not be an issue for you if you are not travelling in a group, or can load other riders units from the same source, but check closely as the recalculate happens as dramatic changes to your planned routes can occur, use the undo redo tool if you need to be precise, just remember how many times you use this tool, or your redo may be an undo.
