Have 665, LM currently on CNNA NT 2023.20. Ran GE and a mandatory update- to 7.16.3.0. Connected 665 and says map up to date. GE Update available. Updated to 7.18.4.0. Still says utd. Was checking on garmin express download page and noticed that 7.18.4.0 only for windows 10 and up. I'm running windows 7. There is link for win 7. Download and install 7.17.3.0. But it crashes. Uninstalled GE, then re installed 7.17.3.0 but still crashes. Used different win7 machine. Got 7.17.3.0 to run, but says utd.

I am running Windows 7. Tried the GE 7.18.4 update but had issues. I had to clean out all GE files and then downloaded GarminExpressWin7.exe (GE 7.18.3) from Garmin's GE website. Installed and it is working fine for me. It does say "New Version Available" each time I open it. I just click on the "Don't Install Now" box and go about my business.

That's strange. On my last post, you can't tell since I just copy and pasted, but there is a link on Garmins webdite to windows 7 version. But for me it downloaded 7.17.3.0. Is that what you meant to type? How do you clean out all files? I guess that would get rid of backups? How can I save a backup? Where are they stored?

I had to go back and check my notes which are not as thorough as I had hoped. I updated to v7.18.1 and had issues (not v7.18.4 as i stated below, which we know doesn't work with Windows 7 now). I downloaded and installed v7.17.3 but had issues getting it to run. I deleted the Garmin Express folder on my C drive (C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Express). I think the only thing this deletes other than Garmin Express and associated software stuff is your device setups. You might be able to get by just deleting the "express.exe" file but I am not sure. Your maps will not be affected, if that's what you mean by "backups". I then downloaded v7.17.3 again and reinstalled. I did have to reconnect all my devices and setup. It worked fine for a week or so when it updated v7.18.3. When I open Garmin Express, go into Settings, and then About it says v7.18.3. It is not supported but updated and has worked fine. I get the new version available message now and just click on the don't install box each time.

Ok thx. But 7.17.3.0 is running on my one computer. It just doesn't show that there is map update available?

And by backups, i mean the setup ( not big deal) but also routes that are stored. Actually now that i think about it, pretty sure the routes are on sd card

I installed GE 7.18.4.0 on a win 10 computer. Plugged in zumo and still says maps 2023.20 are up to date.
