max speed on power up

My XT is doing something odd. And it has been doing it for a while now so nothing to do with latest updates.
When I turn my XT on the max speed always shows 79mph. I can clear the max speed, turn the unit off and back on, and when I look, there it is again 79mph.
This is not a huge issue but just seems odd. Anybody else had this ?

I do the same apart from resetting trip B .
But on each power up the max speed shows 79.
As I said, not a show stopper just a mild irritation.

It should not matter how you reset it, but you might try deleting Travel History.
Settings>Device>Travel History
As a last resort, a hard reset to factory settings will often correct strange behavior, especially after a firmware update.
Max. Speed is often wrong. (Our Sienna minivan reportedly accelerated from 81 to 162 mph within a distance of 237 feet)
If you open an Active Log from internal memory as it was recorded on the Zumo, there will often be instances where the distance between two track points is very low, followed by an improbable speed to the next point. The average speed from the first point to the third will usually be more believable.

That was the fist thing I tried. Had no effect.

Did not try that, but should work.
@keefffff
Why not just rest Trip B also? Do you want to keep it?

I want to keep Trip B recording my total distance.

OK. Understand
I took the XT for a walk and managed to get the max speed to 15 kmh, not bad for 60+ years.
I tried some combinations and it looks like 'Overall Data + Reset Max Speed' does what you want. Trip B is retained and the Max speed is reset to zero.
But please write down the Trip B data in case it should go wrong.
