Is there any way to alphabetize the routes either before or after you download them from Basecamp?
It's crazy the order they are displayed.
Thanks

There are no sorting options. I believe they are ordered by proximity to your current location, nearest first.

I believe that departure time/date has first sorting priority. After that, there doesn't seem to be any logic. All routes in my XT now are local rides that contain the same starting point so I can't confirm proximity, assuming proximity determination looks at the starting point.

Good point. I forgot about time factor as I rarely assign one to my routes.

What do you mean 'time factor.' Are you talking about the amount of time the route takes?
I just can't figure out the logic they used.

You can assign a starting time to a route when planning a trip.
On the XT, create the trip with Trip Planner and save it. Then select the trip and use the wrench icon to see options, scroll down to Edit Schedule to set a start time. I don't see a way to set a start date. In Basecamp the Trip Planner does let you set a start date.
Time/date is seldom specified for my routes because I don't find it useful . Routes just begin whenever I'm ready to go.

I set time/date in Basecamp for each route that makes up a multi-day trip solely so that those routes will be listed sequentially on the XT. Start time is always set at 08:00 for consistency. Sometimes we actually get on the road by 08:00.

I did a chat with Garmin and was told that there is no way to organize the trips.
I tried deleting them all (35) then imported them one at a time, and they still won't stay in the order I put them in.
I sent a suggestion to Garmin. But, I'm sure that like peeing into the wind.
When I'm doing a trip I put a number in front like 1. From home to Washington, DC. 2. Washington DC to home, etc. etc. and assign them a separate category in their own folder to make them easy to find.

The list of trips is limited to a few per screen, and though it would be nice to have more choice in their order, there is a certain logic in their method. If you have multiple routes, the route you are most likely to need is the one that is closest to your present time/location.
In your example, Trip 1 should be at the top of the list when you are at home. Trip 2 should be at the top when you are in DC.
Garmin stopped any XT development or bug fixes long ago, so it is what it is.

I don't recall it working like this which is why I started adding a departure info when creating routes. I have a 6 day trip coming up in a couple of weeks. I will remove the departure info from day 2 just to see if it is at the top of the list that morning. I just stuck a sticky note on my XT to remind me.
