I made "clones" of my three GPS (prior to getting the new 595) on 16GB USB drives. Just to have a backup of the data. I have a 550, 660, and a 665

Today, I was checking the devices to see if they worked. When I plugged in the 550 USB Garmin Express said I could update the maps to 2025.1. Just found that interesting since I cannot up date my 665 due to "memory" issues (according to Garmin).

Interesting as the 550 is in this list!

I think that the memory card could be as big as 4Gb and a later update to the software enabled it to use maps larger than 2Gb (V4.90)

The heading refers to GArmin 5xx - but the date is 2012, so it cannot be referring to the 590/595 !!

City Navigator North America has grown to over 5 GB.

I suspect the "clone" USB has more storage capacity than a 550.
