Please note - the discussion about cables in this thread is now out of date.

Newly Available for the XT2 and Tread Devices
USA Site : https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/1485199
UK Site : https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/1485199/pn/010-02974-00
Info is being added as I looked at the pages. I found the instruction manual a few minutes later.

It may need a power cable Y adapter for the XT2, or it may be supplied with one.
Thanks to GeorgeKingGeorge on the AdvRider website for alerting me to this.
For Info - we still do not know what is included in the controller box - but it looks like the following items need to be purchased to fit a controller to an existing XT. Info is provided just for references. Please check things out for yourself. Note that Garmin supply 2 different Y adapters.
Handlebar Controller ----------- 010-02974-00 --- £129.99 --- $149.99
High Power Cable --------------- 010-13087-01 ----- £59.99 ---- $59.99
Group Ride Radio Y-Adapter --- 010-13285-00 ---- £34.99 ---- $39.99

Edit - just been playing to see where it would fit.
This might do the job - the vertical Ram Ball is currently just push fitted onto the existing clutch lever clamp bolts. The controller's circular clamp might secure to the horizontal part as it is, but I have some 1" diameter PVC tube which I could soften and drive over the horizontal RAM ball mount.
The controller would clamp verticaly over that (although I was thinking of trying to secure it horizontally somehow). It is out of the way of my hand, within thumb reach and doesn't catch the screen on full lock. It probably doesn't need the full length of the horzontal part if mounted vertically . If it works vertically, a Ram ball on a thread and a piece of 1" diameter alloy with a threaded hole in one end would make a neater job.
jfheath wrote:The thread discusses the way that the handlebar controller is wired up. The downloadable instruction manual suggests a cable that did not exist when the controller was announced. The three cables that did exist (power cable and two varieties of Y cables) were not mentioned in the manual - so we were trying to work out exactly what needed to be bought. I bought both cables for the XT2 and the controller having had the purchase verified by product support - who had to go away and ask someone else.
However. A brand new fourth accessory cable has recently been listed which seems to be all that you need to buy. It matches the diagrams in the manual - but not the text. See later posts Page 4 28th Dec 2024.
