Hello & help

Hiya, I just got a refurb XT from Garmin, my original unit had charging issues.
On the old unit I had loaded OSM map for Cambodia and it worked well other than place names, but it was up to date and routable.
I have downloaded current map from BBBike, added the file to the Garmin directory, but nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Any advice gratefully received

Welcome. Best if you ask that question in the XT forum.

Hello and Welcome to the forum @Rae

A long time ago I wrote a document on how to install OSM maps obtained from a web site that no longer exists.

I'll put the link at the bottom just in case you are interested. But I do not know how relevant it will be now.

However, this section is a screenshot of part of that document, and I think much of this will be relevant. In particular it describes where to put it.

Click the image to see a larger version.

The link that I mentioned is here. Download the pdf file.

If the suggestions you've received don't work, try the OSM maps from openmapchest.org. Their instructions have always worked for my XT, the maps are updated weekly, and their color choices provide good contrast. Downloads with a torrent client are free, but you can download direct from their servers with a donation to help support the server.
