Dear All,

I have created a, Windows 32 bit only, program called TripManager that could be of interest to you. It supports Zumo models XT fully and XT2 partially, and should run on any Windows 10/11 version, and probably Window 7/8, if you dont use the OSM feature, but that is not tested. There is no 'catch'. No viruses, malware, or tracking software get loaded on your computer. You can use the normal procedure to uninstall the program. The program is absolutely free, you can do with it whatever you like. Source code included on GitHub. It goes without saying that I am not responsible for any side-effects. Use at you own risk!

Getting started:
- Download and install the installer. 'setup_TripManager.exe'
Note: You will probably see 'Windows protected your PC'. Click on 'More info' and 'Run anyway'. (Trust me, no viruses or the like)
- Be sure that the .system folder is visible on the XT(2)
- Connect the XT(2) to your computer, wait for the device to appear.
- Start the program.

Some of the things this program can do:
- It can fix the trips (RUT) Multi-select supported. Without the need to copy the files manually to/from your computer. The program handles that for you,
- Delete/Rename files (trip, gpx, gpi) on the XT(2)
- Transfer files to and from your PC
- It can help you organise your trip files, by renaming them from a 10 digit number to tripname, sort them by setting a departure date/time, and grouping them.
- It shows a lot of info on the trip files. Including a Hex viewer, and an overview on an OSM map.
- You can modify the trip files. Change departure date/time, transportation mode, route preference. Group/Ungroup.
- It can create trip files directly from GPX files. (For the XT2 this may not work) The benefits are that trips are saved (preventing RUT) rightaway, dont need to be imported, are shown grouped in the trip planner, Via/Shaping points retain their assigned names. Basecamp settings for Transportation mode, Route preference and departure date/time are respected. The first time a trip file is opened on the XT(2) it will recalculate.
- It can create GPI (POI) files from GPX files, and display info of loaded gpi files. Including gpi files created by POI Loader. Excluding gpi files that are protected by an unlock code.
- It can post process GPX files. Renaming Shaping points, putting them 'on the road', prevent renaming them on the XT(2).
- It can compare, on an OSM map, a trip on the XT(2) with a GPX file on your computer. This way you can check the calculation of the XT(2), maybe you need to add some shaping points?

I know you're a Mac guy, so I did not send you a PM earlier, but I figured you would like the functionality.

About the emulator: Will that allow you to use MTP devices, like the XT? If the answer is yes, I will mention that in the Docs.

I don't know the answer, but because the popular Windows emulators allow driver installation just as if you were running native Windows, I have to believe that you can use an MTP device as long as the correct driver is installed in the virtual version of Windows.

This is amazing work. I'm not a power user by any means but I do run my routes through the JaVaWa tool to prevent RUT. I leave the original BaseCamp-generated routes on my XT's SD card. Would this allow a "batch" approach to modifying these routes? That is, rather than copying the route files individually from the XT, running them through JaVaWa, and saving them back, could I do this with one operation? I may have as many as 20 routes for a trip, one for each day and possibly a few alternatives for any given day.

Yes you can do multi-select. That is, select all the trips on the XT, and then functions/Set selected trips to saved.
Note: When you start the program a checkmark in front of the file name indicates if it is saved (fixed), or imported.

If you have an XT, which I think is your model, you can even transfer the GPX file directly to the XT.

@FrankB, is this as simple as filling the checkbox in the Trips View pane? Checking the box changes the mimported status from True to False. If so, this is much quicker than the JaVaWa tool. I did this and viewed the Trips directory in File Explorer right after and confirmed the files were modified at that time. No extra step required to Save or Save As.

The XT now shows these as Saved rather than Imported. Last step would be to import these back into BaseCamp to compare to the originals per your recommendation.

Yes. That's all there's to it.
If you have many trip files, it can even be done quicker.

- CTRL/A to select all files.
- Click on Functions/Set Trips to saved

And it will do all of them at once.

If you only 'Fix the trips' there is no need to copy back to BC.
Copying back to BC is only recommended (not needed perse) when you use the 'Post Process' function.
