Stopping between Via points

Hello XT’ers.
The scene for some questions:
I am riding and navigating with the XT, travelling along a Basecamp prepared route I have loaded on the XT.
Questions-
1. What does the XT do/display if I decide to pull over and stop between two of my chosen Via points (50Km apart) for say 30 minutes.
2. Is there any action I need to take on XT after I stop?
3. Can I turn the XT off?
4. How can I re-commence my trip?
Thank you, Mikey

1. Nothing
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. Turn XT back on, show map - it should just pick up the route again.

If your XT power source shuts down when the ignition is turned off, or you remove the XT from the mount, it will warn that it is going to turn off a few seconds before the screen goes dark. It will actually enter a standby mode, which maintains your active route and lets you resume it quickly when power is restored.
If your XT mount is wired direct to the battery and always has power, you can always put it in standby with a short
tap on the power button.
If you press and
hold the power button, the screen will ask if you wish to turn off the XT. Agreeing will completely shut down the XT. It will take longer to re-start and you will need to re-select the route from the trip planner, pick an entry point, etc.
Standby mode is my usual choice if I will be using the XT within the next few days. If it will be unused any longer than that, I will shut it down completely. This prevents depleting the internal battery, which can be difficult to charge when completely empty. Longer periods in standby when connected directly to the bike battery can prevent starting the bike.
