I no longer seem to be able to access the system files on my zumo XT or my old Nuvi 2360 when they are hooked up to the PC.
In particular I want to access the xml file on my Nuvi.
Has something been changed by Garmin to block access to these files?

Do you see any files or nothing at all? The .xml file should be in your Garmin folder.

To see the .System files on the XT you need to enable that option on the Diagnostics Page.

View Map → Tap Speed → Hold on Speed for about 8 seconds → Configuration and Settings → MTP settings → Show .System

That's the problem, I don't get Configuration & Settings on the Nuvi diagnostics page.

I see lots of folders when I hook up the Nuvi including the Garmin folder but the xml file is nowhere to be seen.

You might try using Mass Storage mode, if your Nuvi has that option, and then setting your file manager to view hidden files/folders.

OR doing a Google search for keywords including:

• Nuvi ####

• hidden

• system

• diagnostics

Well it should be in the Garmin folder. Do you have Windows set to show system AND hidden files, two separate settings?
