Txt messages and mute not working

Hi
2 more issues with my xt.
1: I have txt smart notifications turned on but I don't get any txt's on the xt, I'm using a iPhone, anyone else having this?
2: I press Mute so I don't get navigation instructions, I still get my music (from phone) interrupted as I approach a junction, no voice but the length of interruption is the same as if it was speaking to me, the only fix was to go into the Mixer and drop the navigation volume to zero.
I've tried emailed Garmin but after 2 weeks no reply!
