203 Zumo XT - Ignoring a Via Point - in a 'Saved' Route.

The Video The Video below has been taken while driving in a car along a pre-planned route.

The Route is regarded by the XT as 'Saved' - as opposed to 'Imported' to the Zumo from Basecamp or from a GPX file. So either it has been created on the XT screen itself, or else the route has been 'nobbled' to think that it is not Imported.

Watch For Note that the Via Point is located in a place where I cannot possibly reach it. In the middle of a field. Watch the 0.8 mi Distance to Via display at the bottom right of the screen.

Also watch the 2.2mi distance to the End point - especially after I have gone past the orange flag in the field. Although I am getting closer to the actual end flag (off the top of the screen), after passing the orange flag, that distance is increasing because the route is having to take me back to the orange Via point first. That Distance to End value is a very useful when riding - if the distance to the end is increasing - then the Zumo is not taking you where you think that it is taking you.
My Input I drive past the closest point where the XT expects me to go across the field. It keeps wanting me to turn back. I ignore all of that. Shortly after, I give in and take a side road to turn the car around. Then I had back along the same road towards the Via Point. Watch the Distance to the Via and to the End again.

Heading in the opposite direction I get numerous requests to turn back. Periodically it asks if I want to Skip. I ignore them.

I stop the video. The point has been well made. In fact I couldn't see or get to the satnav during this recording, I let it run until I got home a few miles later. It was still asking me to turn back to the Via Point. On a couple of occasions it found a different route.
Conclusion And of course, this is what we want. We have set a Via point as a place that we wish to stop - we want the Zumo to take us to it. If I do something stupid like putting the Via Point in a Field, or if a new road has been built - that is down to me to check. when planning the route.
