54d Traffic Information
Displaying Incident Screens
Pic 4 - This is a continuation from Pic 3. If you tap on that map on your XT screen, then the white menu bar is re-drawn on the left hand side - as can be seen in Pic 4. The 3 bar menu at the top left opens up the Incidents/Legend menu that is shown on the screen. 'Legend' is a key to the symbols that are used on the map - eg a red circle is a road closure. The map also colour codes the roads where traffic is stationary or is moving slowly.
If you select "Incidents", then you get an active display which can be very useful. That is shown in Pic 5.

Pic 5 - Shows an active list - ie it alters as you ride along. I am about to turn left onto the A647 and the satnav is using my route to inform me of any issues that it knows about. It is also showing me the issues in the opposite direction - should I change my mind and head in that direction instead.
As I ride, the direction arrows change to point in the correct direction, and of course the mileage changes as I get closer or further away. Eventually, as the road works 3.5 miles away disappear behind me, the XT will look further ahead. Not that these road works / closures may not be on my route, but thay are close to my route. It is possible to tap on any symbol on the map or on this list in order to find out the precise location and what the incident is.

Pic 6 - On the right hand side of the screen you are able to select from a number of panels that provide you with information or with easy access to controls. The bootom right hand corner will show one of two buttons: A cross 'X' which is the symbol for closing down the display; the 3 dot menu - the 3 dots are arranged vertically, but the message is that there is more stuff to come ... So Towns Ahead, Up Ahead (which is configurable), Trip Data, Weather, Traffic, ... are all available panels, along with some controls such as Music Player and Track Recorder.
Traffic is what has been selected to display the right hand panel in picture 6.
However - the Traffic Panel may pop up by itself - if you are following a route and the XT spots road closures or delays up ahead, it will show itself, even if you have a different panel open. AFter a little time it will then disappear again. Or you can cactivate it yourself - in which case it stays there until you replace it with something else. Occasionally it will offer a detour. In practice I find that the delays are a little slow in being removed when the traffic has subsided - so you have to ask yourself the question - do you feel lucky ? If it was likely that there was a delay an hour ago - because was rush hour - I'd just ignore it.
Tapping the display pops up a more detailed map showing closures and delays.
