XT cutting corners to unsuitable roads

Hi On several routes in rural locations , the XT has decided to cut the corner and use single track roads some unrideable. I'm not talking areas of country lanes , but using A or B roads , IE so traveling down an A road and will be taking a right turn on a B road , rather going to the A/B junction ...

Re: Garmin XT & Tyre

Regarding ITN files, they are the original file extension use by TomTom devices , the newer TomTom are able use both ITN and GPX .
In a TomTom
Gpx are used as tracks - start to end, no waypoints
ITN are used for waypoints.
This is from a TomTom rider manual.

Re: Garmin XT & Tyre

Steve Have you checked to see if your XT is visible on your computer, can see the xt and SD card if installed , plus the file structure. I use tyre and have no problems, but when I create a route , I save them to a folder on my PC , then cut and paste or copy to the XT, into the gpx folder on xt or ...

Out of interest can someone explain what all the different Maps in myMaps are used for/or needed , as you have the options to select different maps, should they all be selected or certain ones. Or is the map made up of layers? If they are all selected and some are not needed for your area/route ...
