Re: XT2 in rain - nightmare!
Both my wife and I had this exact same issue on our first outing with our original XT's, I asked Garmin if they would add a feature to disable the touch screen, so I could select that mode when it rained, they said they had no plans to offer it at the time (that was 3 years ago) so I am surprised to ...

Re: what software to use to create GPX files
Thanks everyone, guess I will stick to basecamp for the time being. Regards Gary Just an Idea, have you tried Mapsource? Thanks for the suggestion, I haven’t tried it, I was really hoping to get Tread to work on a PC as Garmin wrote the software to work with their GPS units, but as it seems they d ...

Re: what software to use to create GPX files
Many thanks for the info, but I am amazed by your statement that you never found it buggy, I will move a single waypoint and it changes the entire route, I will add way points and remove waypoints and it makes a complete mess of the route, I convert to a route and the system hangs!! I always get it ...

what software to use to create GPX files
I have a garmin XT and a friend has the newer XT2, I have been using basecamp to create GPX routes for my XT but I know Garmin no longer supports basecamp, the XT2 says to use Garmin Tread for creating routes, so I thought I would try that for my XT, but Tread only recognizes the XT2 not the XT? So ...

Re: how to use Garmin Tread on a PC
surely I can't be the only one wanting to create GPX routes on a screen larger than a tablet or phone? Does Garmin offer any other solution for creating gpx files that can run on a PC?

how to use Garmin Tread on a PC
I have just purchased a garmin XT2, I tried connecting it to my PC and using basecamp (which is how I use my zumo XT), but I get a pop-up that states the XT2 is not compatible with basecamp and to use Tread (the maps from my XT2 is not seen by basecamp so I have very little detail). I can get Tread ...

Re: Newbie from France
Thanks Sussamb, I am usually modifying existing routes, but Basecamp seems to really mess up when I try adding points and move waypoints, it works sometimes but other times it completely changes the route, it seems to be really hit & miss. Have watched several videos but despite using it for 15 ...

Re: Newbie from France
The GPS is fantastic (best Garmin so far) but Basecamp is very difficult to use and create routes. I use it all the time as it is convenient but I always end up wanting to shoot the computer as it is just so difficult to create and save routes. NOTHING is logical in Basecamp. Be sure to watch a few ...

Re: Switching between 2 bikes /fuel settings
I have the same issue, I move the GPS between 3 different motorcycles and would like to have it warn me when the fuel level gets low, but the tank range is very different for each bike, and it’s very inconvenient to have to reprogram the GPS every time I move it to a different motorcycle. As you s ...
