Re: Changing from pc to mac
The databases for basecamp are compatible across the the two platforms. In the mac, the database is stored in /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp/Database/4.8. In windows it is stored in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Basecamp\4.7 You can simply copy the ...

Re: Zumo XT2 in few weeks?
My wallet will stay in my pocket for now, but there's always hope that the faster processor will be a desirable upgrade. -dan I think the Zumo XT is actually fairly fast. Try using a Zumo 396 sometime. A buddy of mine has one. The route calculation time is glacial. It actually feels slower than the ...

Re: XT Bumper Case?
This guy is based in the UK, is it the same person that you used on etsy? https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Weird3dprintsShop?fbclid=IwAR1Yo__dZyXMAi4JhYyhIp6JmxOhBogZoI-HVRau2FlESeZ9NM4BRM6XiWA Personally.. I would not order from him. I ordered two bumper cases and they were supposed to include the ...

Re: Will custom POIs appear in "Up ahead" function?
Wow! Using the "Where to" does indeed appears to be a better option than "Up Ahead". Thank @wiscocyclist for posting about this. Up Ahead has the advantage of displaying the three most used categories rather than having to scroll through a list of categories. I there a way to manipulate the order ...

Re: Will custom POIs appear in "Up ahead" function?
I didn't know about this feature. Will the POIs be listed by proximity? Can one be added to active route? I personally think this works better than "Up ahead" for gas stations and such. If I recall correctly, it looks 1/2 mile off to either side of your route whereas up ahead does it a bit ...

Re: Will custom POIs appear in "Up ahead" function?
The short answer 'No" The better answer is "yes" if you do a "Where to" Hit the Blue button at the top and change to "My active route" "Custom POI's" (I have mine moved to the top of the list) Select the POI you wish to search on That will show any custom POI in that category (mine are broken up by ...

Re: Has anyone determined what triggers the double-ding?
I don't have such an option. My research shows that other devices have a Proximity Alert option under Settings > Driver Assistance but I haven't found anything specific to the XT. The setting for a single tone is under Settings/Driver Assistance/Proximaity Alerts/Audio/Single Tone (or Off). I ...

Re: Has anyone determined what triggers the double-ding?
Hi Peabody.. been following this thread as I have the same issue and when I get alerts it disconnects my intercom briefly. The downside to disabling alerts is that I use proximity alerts for other things (I have a bunch of Custom POI's installed) where I want to be alerted when I'm near a custom POI ...
