Re: Rosetta and Intel-based apps

You'd be better off with a cheap windows laptop. Used or otherwise.

Cheap laptops appear to be worth what one pays for them - and I've had a few, but not recently.

I'm open to suggestions or alternatives to the Neo - if you have any in mind. I like it's long battery life, the metal case and ...

Re: Any tips to fix RUT without computer?

If you want to simulate these routes you have to switch the GPS signal off to your device and tell it where the start of your route is.
From the Zumo XT manual the procedure is as follows.
1.Select Settings > Navigation > GPS Simulator.
2.From the main menu, select View Map.
3.Tap the map twice to ...

Re: Dusted off the 660.

I still have an Old BMW NAV IV which is the BMW version of the 660 (I don't think that there are any differences in its navigation operation just its ability to display vehicle parameters from the BMW). I used this on my 2014 R1200RT until 2022 and it routed well using basecamp routes (much better ...

Re: Clearing Internal Memory

If you plug your zumo into a computer and go to File Explorer if you are a Windows user and navigate to here

And delete these files and anything in Archive

Then there will be nothing to import into tracks or trips.

Re: problems when trying to load basecamp routes on to new Zumo XT

On the unit itself go to Settings> navigation and make sure that your calculation mode is "Faster Time" or "Shorter Distance" and not direct.

I have the exact same pair.

The maps that should be ticked are indicated in this photo. The 390 is on the right and the screen is a bit sharper as I had to replace it a couple of years ago. You can see I also have a customised OSM map on the card for the 390 ...

Re: BC weirdness

Still GPS is much handier than the old map only days. Good to see those roads you put up. My first tour "Across the Water" was to Wales in August 1981 at the age of 20 two up with my then girlfriend on a 250 Honda Superdream.......camping!! The exuberance of youth. Nearly got eaten alive by midges ...

Re: BC weirdness

No you can't tweak the speeds on the Zumo 595 as far as I'm aware that's hard coded into the unit. Weirdly, on my very old Streepilot 2610 circa 2004 you could tweak the priority given to major, middling and minor roads on the unit. This was a useful feature that garmin dropped. Using basecamp for ...

Re: BC weirdness

OK I've had a bit of a look at this and for the deviation at "Joe Browns" Shop this is a fault with the Here mapping used by Garmin if it is reported to HERE it should get fixed (Eventually).

This is what it looks like on my Basecamp mapping CN Europe 2027.10
