Re: MRA Routeplanner and Favorites Question
MRA is not as good at handling POI's as basecamp. However, you can create a library of your own POI's I'm not seeing how the MRI POI's suggestion would work. From what I can tell, one needs to zoom in to see the POI's. If I am plannng a multiday trip that's covering 100's of miles, that's not going ...

Re: MRA Routeplanner and Favorites Question
I have a Garmin Zumo XT and use Basecamp and MRA. I bought "Gold" lifetime membership to MRA a couple of years ago and use the route planner and the navigation app. MRA is not as good at handling POI's as basecamp. However, you can create a library of your own POI's Screenshot 2025-03-18 110515.jpg ...

Re: Update to Europe NTU 2026.1
Roads do not change frequently. We made cross-country trips with a TomTom GPS with the original map from 2009 to 2022, no problems. Only stopped using it because Google Maps on the phone was more convenient. If my City Navigator maps stop updating, or if I needed maps of a different country, I ...

Another vote for daily routes. Makes it much more flexible if you want to change the route for one of the days or have alternative routes for poor weather.

Re: Loading MRA Routes Garmin Zumo XT
Ok from the description of your test it might be too simple. Try conceiving a route with at least three or four shaping points and a via point. Normal behaviour is that if you skip a shaping point and it recalculates the route it will take you to the next closest shaping point on the magenta line ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.
I never experienced what is called the RUT issue, my only experience is with the 550, and from what I know so far about RUT be what i read, I think that just putting in a waypoint destination only with no shaping or waypoints, just allow the zumo to calculate on its own, will solve RUT, will this ...

Re: Compass on 396
No but your sat nav will tell you what direction you are going in when you are moving as mentioned above. I thought you might want to know what direction you were pointing when stationary. The Sat Nav can't tell you that...... until you move. To be fair if you want to head west in the morning then ...

Re: Compass on 396
Any of the devices will tell you what direction you are going in. If you want to know what direction you are about to head when stationary why not take a hiking compass and stick it in your pocket?
