a suitable carry case or alternative?

Post by pratishk »

Hi all,
New to this forum, already found some useful tips on the SD card and getting a tether, etc. so Thank You so far!

Did a search but could not find any tips or alternatives to the Garmin Carry case on here? I am not really keen on the whole locking thing as yet and feel that removing it and carry it would be probably fine for me for now, so anyone paid and used the Garmin case - is it worth it? or are they the same as getting a cheap alternative generic soft case?

I found a suitable generic case on Ebay, and it's been fine.

Thanks Colirv what size did you get or was it a generic zumo xt specific one? I seem to only find 5inch cases which feel too small for the XT?

TIA.

I have a feeling I simply reused the case for my Zumo 590. My case seems to have the same dimensions as this one on Ebay, and the XT fits it quite neatly. Your risk, mind!

Halfords Generic 6 inch case is quite sturdy and well made, a soft case with a netting compartment inside for charging cable, etc for £7 can't go wrong.

Neoprene camera lens bags. I have a set of these I use for camera lenses, cameras or the XT. I think the second smallest is the one I use.

So went and got this item, it popped up in one of my searches and seems to fit the bill:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01697R9TW/

some pics of it with the garmin, a little larger than the XT but not by much and has a nice soft feel.

Yes - I bought the same.
I'd recommend it for being nice and slim and not adding too much extra bulk when carrying it around.
