I'M coming from a montana 650
BTW, just so you know, another good feature which Montana has but for some reason not on Zumo, is when you create a route on the unit screen, you don't see your last via/shaping point on your route. You need to visually know the route you making and where to set the last point.
Frankly, it beats me why some really useful features are being removed from one software to another. Aren't these software engineers from a different units talking to each other? Doesn't look like it.

Montana is mainly aimed at off road use whereas other Garmin models are aimed at on road use. I'm not therefore sure why you think the two would be in step, I'd actually be more surprised if they were.

Susamb, if you download NA or EU street maps, you can use the Montana (btw it is also Garmin) same way as any other Garmin navigation devices.
Yes, it has many more functions over Zumo if one has a need for.

Yep, I had one. Got rid of it as found it too big when hiking. I have an Etrex 20 which is perfect.
