Duplicate maps on my XT

No joy. Rebuilding the GarminDevice.xml file did not change anything. I have also removed the XT from Express and then added it back but no change either.

Here are a few additional questions/observations that might lead to clue into what is going on.
1. On the XT there is a .System\Map directory and a root \Map directory. The .System\Map directory contains .img, .gma, and .unl files whereas the root \Map directory only contains .gma and .unl files. Can an analysis of either of these directories provide a clue?
2. Inside the .System\Map directory, there are a number of .gma/.unl file pairs. All of them are dated either 9/24/2020 or 12/22/2020. What purpose do they serve?
3. Inside the .System\Map directory there are three .img files but only two of them have an associated .gma file. Why?

Crikey. Wonder how your Zumo has got in that mess. Easy one first. As there is no map file in Internal Storage/Map you can delete the complete Map folder.

In .system/Map you have 2 Map files
D8171040A.img
D8172040A.img

Normally I'd expect to see two files for each map file, one ending in .gma and one ending in .unl with their name corresponding to the map file name, and with a similar date/time stamp, so if we take the first one D8171040A.unl and D8171040A.gma

It's possible the .unl file isn't required on current models but you are missing a .gma file it seems. I'd be tempted to delete all the files including the map files and reinstall the map using Express.

I know I have a mess with the CN NA NT map but that is the only map that I have ever seen update. Maybe because it is the only one I have paid attention to for installing on the PC. Regardless, my impression is that the other two maps came on the device so I am concerned about deleting them. I don't have a clue how to install maps with Express, only how to update. If I deleted everything I would then need to install the current CN NA NT and the iOverlander and TopoActive maps correct? Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this?

If you have 2 maps plus a CN map on your device then you must have another .img file somewhere. Is there one in the .system folder itself, as that's where the CN map would normally reside?

There are three .img files in .system. One is the third entry in my list, the other two are at the bottom. One of them, D8172040A.img, does not have an associated .gma file.

Also of concern are the two .gma files without any associated files (D0322490A.gma & D8171030A.gma), and the one .unl file without an associated .gla file (d8171010a.unl).

Ah sorry, you said they were in .system/Map not .system

You can delete all .unl and .gma files that don't match the name of an .img file

Will deleting the unneeded .gma and .unl files resolve the issue of the XT not showing that the CN NA NT map is installed?
