Newbie with an XT question
New guy, sorry for the ignorant question. I am planning on buying a new Zumo XT to mount on my '21 Suzuki DR650 and I'm curious if the XT will allow me to run a USB cable from it to my cell phone to keep it charged??......no sense in wiring in 2 power leads from the battery to the handlebars, 1 for the XT and 1 for my phone if the XT will charge my phone as well. Thx.

Re: Newbie with an XT question
The XT has no provision for charging a phone, and I doubt that the small inline voltage converter could provide sufficient current to run both a phone and the XT. The Zumo 590 and 595 were the only models I know of that had a USB output for charging, and those only provided about 0.5 amp, not enough for many modern phones.

My 595 usb port is for comms or music. It will not charge a smart phone.lkraus wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:34 pm The XT has no provision for charging a phone, and I doubt that the small inline voltage converter could provide sufficient current to run both a phone and the XT.
