Using a Garmin XT (still learning) on my motorcycle, and also an Inreach Mini. Is there any way I can avoid waypoints on my XT to show up on my online Garmin Explore page / map? I have no need to have my XT waypoints show up on the explore map (too much clutter). Somehow there has to be a way to disable sync of these waypoints to "Explore".
Thanks in advance.

Re: Garmin XT waypoints show up on my explore page
Welcome to the forums !
There are two options that I can think of here.
One is to break the link between your XT and the Explore website. When you set up your XT it seems to suggest that you have to go through the process of setting up Explore - it doesn't say that you have a choice. But it is possible to break the connection. I'll come back and post a link as to how.
But it sounds as though you are wanting to use the Explore facility....
The only other way that I can think of is to organise your Waypoints into collections. You can do this on the XT screen or on the Explore pages. Any Waypoint that isn't in a collection goes into the 'Unorganised' collection.
Then on the explore Website (or in the Explore App), you can make collection visible or invisible by clciking the 'eye' icon.
One solution is to create a new collection for your XT's existing waypoints, and in Explore move them all into that collection. That way you can turn them on and off at will, and it leaves your unorganised collection available to identify the ones that are not yet in a collection.
You can use Explore to process multiple items at once. Select the collection that you want to use, Click 'Add Waypoints to the Collection' and then use the check boxes to tick / untick the ones that you want to add. The tick box at the top of the list selects all of them in one operation. IT maybe easier to select that and then untick the ones that you don't want to move. Once they are in a collection, they won't appear in the 'unorganised' collection.
I have posted some useful information here app.php/ZXT-P55
Scan through - it is not all relevant to your question, but there or sections on collections and making them visible and invisible - both on the Explore website and on the XT screen.
I have not yet found a way of turning off the double icon on the XT screen when you place an Explore Waypoint into an XT route.
I do not think that there is. Once you have enabled the explore facility, this is what it does - synchronises the tracks and waypoints (and routes) in your XT with your account on the Garmin Explore website. The synchronisation is two way - ie add something to your XT, it appears on the Explore site. Add something to the explore site, it appears on your XT. It does this via your smartphone running the Drive App.hercules59 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 1:08 am Using a Garmin XT (still learning) on my motorcycle, and also an Inreach Mini. Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Thanks for the detailed reply. Really appreciate it. I'll learn to live with it, if there is no "solution"

Well, the solution is to turn off the ones that you don't want - or all of them using collections.
I never have favourites / waypoints showing, Im happy with just the route points. And I very rarely have Explore set up. Just every now and then I turn it on to see if it has been developed into something that I want. It rarely has, so I disable it again.

I'll try app.php/ZXT-P56 and see if I can break the connection.

actually, I don't think that's a good idea, since I still want to control the Inreach Mini from the XT .

The only other way is collections that I am aware of then.
I know nothing about the inReach Mini. Does it use Explore ? It would be useful to know something about how you go on with that, if you have the time.hercules59 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2022 9:27 pm actually, I don't think that's a good idea, since I still want to control the Inreach Mini from the XT .
