I'm hoping someone has experienced the following issue and knows of a fix.
Basecamp 4.7.4 running under Windows 10
I transfer a route (or routes) via the "Send To..." To Devices --> zumo 595 --> Memory Card --> User Data
I wait for the "green checkmark" to appear on the "User Data" folder
I've verified the route is in the "User Data" folder
I've even high lighted and "Recalculate the Selected Route"
Then, on the Zumo 595
Trip Planner --> Tools (wrench) -> Import -> Search for the route, it's not found. Why?
This has happened to me a number of times over the years.
Any ideas and/or solutions?
How do I get the Zumo 595 to re-read all the routes on the SD card.
Basecamp does see the route on the SD card!

Re: Zumo 595 doesn't see route on SD memory card
I had 52. I deleted four of them and still have the same problem. Is there a limit to the number of the routes one can have saved in the Internal memory? I looked through the documentation and couldn't find anything.

Re: Zumo 595 doesn't see route on SD memory card
You had 52 imported routes? Geez, that's a bit excessive. I've never been able to get more than 10 to work at a time. I'm talking transferred AND imported here, not just stored in memory waiting to be imported. Maybe it's time to clean things out a bit. I use Base Camp, so I'd start by getting all the old routes transferred to Base Camp for safe keeping and clearing all that stuff out of internal memory.
I did have an SD card "lock up" in my 595. It was a little different from your situation, I couldn't understand why I couldn't add to it. I could see my routes on the card in Base Camp but I could not add more to the card and I could not import a route for use from the card. A new replacement SD card has been fine ever since. I do not go through the trouble of trying to format a new one, the device will do that for you.
And I have never removed the card from the device. As you say, it shows up as User Data in Base Camp so to me there is never a reason to. Even when putting music on it- it shows up like any other drive in File Explorer.
I also do not transfer from Base Camp to the card as you describe, "Send To..." To Devices --> zumo 595 --> Memory Card --> User Data". Unnecessary. I simply drag and drop from the lower pane to User Data, this puts a duplicate route on the card. Google 'Garmin Copy vs Duplicate' for the difference- it's very important!
I use the card for route store. I never use the device internal memory for that. Not ever. If a route will be active it gets imported. When it's not active it gets deleted. That's the beauty to me of using the card- the route will always be available for import from the card no matter how many times it's imported and deleted. If stored in internal memory, once deleted it will have to be transferred or recreated again.

Just for amusement....
Creat a simple route in Trip planner and save it.
Then try to import the route again
If that doesn't work then-
Tap the map to get a flag.
Save the point.

Re: Zumo 595 doesn't see route on SD memory card
I think we need to know if any routes were ever imported from this SD card, and if it is formatted as FAT32.
The only limit on routes on the SD card should be the available storage space.
As I understand it, the 590/595 should display as many as 100 routes from internal memory. It can hold more, but it will only display the first 100. The rest will be come visible as others are deleted.
Looking over some old notes, I see that the route name may be limited to 30 characters, but I'm uncertain if longer names will be ignored or just truncated.
I never wanted more than 8 or 10 routes on my Zumo at a time, and usually only have 2 or 3. Having more makes finding a particular route more difficult, and planning any further ahead is usually a waste of time because plans evolve as the tour goes on.

I apologize for the delay in following up on this thread. The new year has kept me very busy. I'll respond with my findings in a day or two.
