Looks like it's all better now. Upload worked fine.biglew55 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 7:27 pmI am currently having success as well. I just successfully installed CNNA 2024.10 to my desktop PC using Express 7.15.0.0. and to my netbook using Express 7.16.1.0.
Express no longer provides an option to install the map to a different location. Before, it offered the option and ignored your preference, but it was nice to be asked. It's a struggle to keep enough room free to install the map on the netbook and then move it to the D: drive. Sometimes have to move stuff to D: temporarily, install the map, move it, clean up the extra copies and then move the C: files back where they belong.

Success for me! Includes updating Express to 7.16.1, updating the map on my XT to CN NA 2024.10, and installing that map to my PC.
FWIW, during the map update on the XT I received the red installation failed notice which at around 29% download so I started the update process again and it picked up the download where it left off and completed successfully.

Re: CN NA 2024.10
I saw, here the maps were available and I did download the maps and updated my 665 and 660
My 665 has 16GB of internal memory after the upgrade by the Palm DR. I downloaded the maps to the device and the computer.
My 660 is still stock and I downloaded the maps to my computer and, after the maps were download, I used Mapsource to update the 660.
It took a while since my version of Mapsouce does not allow me to easily select or de-select areas . I was limited to about 4.2 GB of storage space for maps, if I remember correctly.
I used the 660 today and it was fine (although the 2023.10 maps are still listed and it mentioned that on booting up).
Otherwise no issues.

Re: CN NA 2024.10
Ok... there have been some issues using the new Maps. My 665 which has the 16GB internal memory lost my home location. It had to be reset.
My 660 which is stock, would not run routes that were developed and set using the previous map version. In other words, to use a GPX file, the GPS had to be instructed to re-calculate the route. If you were going fastest and wanted to keep it that way, you would have to recalculate using the shortest route feature and the recalculate the fastest route (if that was your final desire).
This is the first time this has happened in my memory. I have never had an issue before with using older routes calculated under older maps.
Once calculated, there were no issues following the routes.

Re: CN NA 2024.10
I just installed CN NA NT 2024.1 on my Zumo XT. Looking at the internal storage files on the Zumo via BaseCamp, I see two files titled City Navigator North America NT 2024.1 v27.10. One shows d9643040a.img and the other shows d9644040a.img. Have I installed the map twice or do those two files work together somehow?

They work together. The map is two large to fit into one file. If you install it to a PC for use with BaseCamp it will be installed on the PC as one file.

Re: CN NA 2024.10
To add to your understanding, that now happens as the NA map is larger than 4Gb, which is the FAT32 limit and is the file format that Garmin uses. The EU map has been split in two for a number of years now.rpatla47@gmail.com wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:44 pm That clears that up! Thanks for the quick reply.

Re: CN NA 2024.10
One is the U.S. map, the other is Canada and Mexico. PC and Apple computers use file systems that allow individual files to be bigger than 4 Gb each., so when installed for Basecamp, Canada, U,S, and Mexico are all in one file.rpatla47@gmail.com wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:21 pm I just installed CN NA NT 2024.1 on my Zumo XT.
