Importing Routes?
Just as I was getting the hang of my Zumo 396, I decided to upgrade to the XT. I kept the SD card and tried to import a trip from it,but got a "No data available" message. I decided to delete all the files from the SD card, then exported a route directly from Basecamp to the SD card, which shows in Basecamp. However, when I try to import it, I still get the No data available message from the XT. Any idea what might be wrong?
Re: Importing Routes?
Wrong format of the SD card?
Normally it should not be an issue, if the card worked before in the Zumo 396, but who knows? The Zumo XT needs the SD card (up to 256Gb) to be formatted in FAT32 - no other formats will be recognized!
Best to check is: Start the Zumo XT without(!) card - if the Zumo XT is booted up and you can see the 'normal' menu screen, open up the card slot an d put the SD card in - if the Zumo XT recognize a unsupported format of the SD card, a message box will pop up and ask you, if you want to format the SD card.
Important - the Zumo XT MUST BE started without the SD card first and MUST BE running when the SD card is inserted!
One other point to check:
Do you have used Mapsource with the Zumo 396? Chance are, that the saved routes on the the old SD card in the 'old' .gdb-format - as far as i know, the Zumo XT only supports .gpx-format when importing data....

Re: Importing Routes?
Thanks. I followed your instructions. I didn't get any "unsupported format" messages or anything, but the route was available to import, and did so successfully. I've been working in this biz for over 40 years, and these things are still throwing me curves every day.
Re: Importing Routes?
Maybe one pin of the connector or one contact of the SD card was dirty or had bad contact, who knows!
Most important thing is, that it now works!
