Re: Battery failure on newish uno XT
I had similar problems getting my just-out-of-the-box XT to start. Even charging with a 2.1A USB charger for an hour was not enough to get it booted up. I have a power supply that puts out 13.6V, so I hooked up the motorcycle mount and it started up right away. You might try connecting the XT to your bike or car to get it started.
If the XT will be unused for more than a day or two, be sure to power it off by holding the button down until it asks "Turn off the device?" If you remove power or just tap the button the screen will go dark but the XT is in a sleep mode and continues to use battery power.

Re: Battery failure on newish uno XT
Since getting the 800# I was able to contact an actual tech support person who quickly deduced my XT was faulty and needed to be replaced. I'm just out of warranty but they'll cover it anyway (good on Garmin) with a reconditioned unit. Two days later, still waiting for the promised UPS label to send my unit back but I do have an invoice number with $0.00 balance so - just waiting for label right now. Big thanks for those who responded & helped me on this forum...
