I have added a custom POI file along with an alert file. I want to test it but don't have a triggering POI close by. I created a test route on the XT that should cause an alert to trigger but can't figure how to start the simulation from its start point instead of my location. Someone please remind me of that trick.
Edit: Let me reword that... How can I start the simulation from its first point rather than my location?
How do I set start point of simulation route?
Re: How do I set start point of simulation route?
I know 2 methods to do this. There may be more, but for me it's enough.
1) Open a Saved location (Where to/Saved), Click on the I Symbol of the location you want. CLick on 'Set location' 2) From the Map. First Click on a road or point.
Cick on the name of selected road/point (Nieuwedijk 15 in the screenshot) Click on 'Set Location'
Note: The button 'Set Location' appears only when you've enabled the GPS Simulator

Thanks. You've no idea how much time I've wasted while the GPS "travelled" to the area of the route I was interested in.
Now, if only Garmin would add FF, PAUSE, and REW controls to simulation mode...

Thanks @FrankB. That "Set Location" option is what I couldn't remember.
While doing testing of my custom POI alert I discovered something that has been annoying me for awhile, and that is the double-bong alert sound. I have proximity alerts > audio set to "Single Tone" and have figured out the a Garmin "single tone" is a double-bong and "continuous tone" is a repeating double-bong. Is this normal and I'm just late to this party? Does this mean that proximity alerts are double-bong while other alerts are single-bong (rider alerts, speeding, reduced speed)?
