map detail, before setting off to Spain?

Hi all, whilst my XT is being repaired/replaced, I needed another so bought the XT2.
The UI is way more complicated than the XT and i've hit the first block, I think.
I'm hoping to get some routes in Spain into the XT2 before going and went into the map, but it appears to only show major roads when I zoom in.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to download more maps to get more detail,? Maybe I'm not using it right.

Which map is installed? Not all devices come with every map.

I'm a bit puzzled by the last four, is it normal on an XT2 or with the update to have Middle East maps when I haven't asked for them specifically?

Yes, according to Garmin it comes with preloaded topographic maps with 3D terrain and street maps for Europe and Middle East.

Returning to your original question you appear to have the correct maps to show the roads in Spain, so it's surprising they don't show.

Are both the CN EU maps selected? Do you see all roads elsewhere or is it just Spain with the issue?

If all maps are affected, check the 'Map Detail' setting, assuming the XT2 has it. With the XT, if the 'Map Detail" setting is set to 'Low', it takes a lot of zoom to see neighborhood streets.
