Cannot Update Zumo 660 Beyond 2015.20

Hi

I'm trying to update my dad's Zumo 660 to the latest map data. Using Garmin Express the only option I am given is Europe 2015.20 which is already installed. I don't believe this most recent map data as I've seen various posts talking about newer versions on this model. I've read of various work arounds using Install to Computer, but that option just fails for me with no explanation of why. Anyone got any troubleshooting tips or know of why this might be happening? Does it need a map purchase or subscription? Express and the support FAQs are giving me no clues about what the issue is so I'm a bit stumped.

Thanks for the reply. I chose to post here because it seems like a software issue to me and something that could affect any model but I'll post the question on the 660 board as well. I read the thread you linked to before I posted but that unfortunately didn't help me because in that case the user already had access to the latest map data. My problem is that Express only offers me the 2015.20 map data. What are the common reasons why latest map data isn't offered?

Possibly because you may not have lifetime map updates?

How could I check that? Software doesn't tell me if I need some sort of subscription or anything.

Try updating to the 2015 map then run Express again. See what it then does.

This was the first time thing I tried. Took over an hour to do the update but it just installed the exact same version that was already on there. Still the only option is 2015.20

Have you tried using MapInstall, rather than Express ?

MapInstall will only work if the map is already on the PC, which doesn't seem to be the case

Then perhaps you don't have lifetime maps, many early Garmin devices didn't. A call to Garmin should confirm that either way.
