I just bought this item for my harley. I have a DriveSmart 71 in my car. I really like the 396, but have an issue that I haven't been able to correct and Garmin Tech Support was no help. The problem I have is I can create a trip just fine, but when I attempt to use the Shape Route function, I can't set any markers to shape the route. All I get is a red banner saying, "Select a valid location". I've tried resetting it back to factory defaults, and even tried to create and shape the trip before applying any of the updates. Doesn't matter what I do, the result is the same. This is the only issue I have with the 396. Every other function is working as it's supposed to. And, as I said, tech support was no help. They didn't have a clue.
Anyone have an idea how to fix this?
