Yes. No issues *just a few issues

Once you click OK that BaseCamp does not support the XT2 you can drop and drag the routes.

Done it 100s of times so far. No issues.

Do you mean drag and drop into the actual xt2 unit?

Yes, within BaseCamp. The device will be listed and you can grab the route, folder, whatever and drop and drag it into the XT2.

You can drag to Internal Storage or SD/User Data.

If you are a slight computer geek and like managing data at the file level then exporting routes from Basecamp as .gpx files to you hard drive and then copying them to the SD card may be appealing because it allows you to give the files a name that is relevant to the route(s) it contains. This makes it easy to identify the route associated with the file when it comes time to cleanup the SD card. Otherwise, the drag and drop method results in filenames like Route01.gpx, Route02.gpx, etc. on the SD card.

Drag and drop to internal storage is different. All route transfers that occur during a single session of Basecamp are written to a temp.gpx file. That file is overwritten on the next session of Basecamp. The result can be that any routes transferred in a previous session that had not been imported on the XT2 will be lost (eg: need to be transferred again from Basecamp).

Short Answer is Yes.

There's an issue which affects all Zumos - and the XT in particular. I assume also the XT2 - but I have not tested it yet.

GPX Files from anywhere palced into Internal storage are subject to some modification. Whether via te temp.gpx or by creating a gpx and placing it in internal storage.
Track files are automatically imported to the Zumo, and the gpx code is stripped out of the gpx files.
Something similar - but not quite the same - happens with Waypoints.

No such editing of files happens if they are palced on the SD card.

Import on the XT2 is more informative. You get to select the file that you are importing from and it lists the files in Internal Storage and the files on the memory card separately, and it gives the path name of the gpx file eg Garmin/GPX/Myfile.gpx
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
