I have a question for those with better knowledge than I.
The link https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=L ... tab=topics
Indicates that the maximum number of songs the 595 can handle is 1000. The aging 660 can handle 2000. Due to certain things, I have loaded 1800 songs on the 595, which appear to work without an issue.
My question is, has anyone experienced issues when there are songs in excess of 1000 on their devices?
Best regards

Re: Number of songs per device
At one time I had ~8000 on my 590 card using DoubleTwist to load them. Now about the same on my Nav 5 mSD card. The more you have the longer the unit needs to index them, to the point of appearing to be locked up. That's why I quit using the 128 gig card with my total 18k tune library on it.
Re: Number of songs per device
Just a note: I do the same (or similar) on my 660, one folder per album or collection and then create a .m3u playlist for the folder. Unfortunately, I discovered that there is a hard limit of 100 playlists on the 660. It took me a bit to figure out why newly created playlists/albums were not showing up.
