No more Spotify on Zumo

@biz - I looked through the entire thread again - no one has mentioned the type of phone that they have - including me - except in my previous post when I tried my ipad with spotify on the 595 - and it worked.

But it would not work when I tried to connect the Samsung android phone. That suggests that it is might not be an issue with the spotify app. Only the app that is created for Android phones.

I use Pandora with my Android phone and bluetooth it into my radio speakers with a ROAV SmartCharge F2 Bluetooth FM Transmitter. Why can't you do the same with Spotify?

I was just looking for my notes on installing system software for GCD files for someone else on the forum.

I came across this snippet that I obtained from somewhere - and that somewhere did not give a source.

It says:

For Spotify with Zumo 595

* In bluettoth settings: rename your device to 'zumo 595' and nothing else !

I'd forgotten about this, and I never checked it out.

Tried it, still doesn't work - Zumo still saying "failed". Interestingly though, the phone seems to think it's working - can't hear it on the phone, as it says it's playing via BlueTooth, and the phone reckons that the device it's playing on is none other than the Zumo.... See:

Curious. Check that capital Z. The post where I found that snippet had a lower case z. I thought it was odd, but that is what it said, so that is what I copied.

More strangeness.... Set the Zumo to Bluetooth audio, bluetooth phone to bike, start Spotify, go into Zumo media player, and will pause/start/skip Spotify!

That has always worked for me - I just checked that I reported this, rather than just finding out, but its there on 2 Dec 2022 (previous page).

So you can play a Spotify play list. You were not able to have the spotify interaction from the Zumo screen.
And once you stop (not pause), I don't think the playlist can be resumed - it has to be started again from the phone.
