After agreeing a trade in trade up with Garmin, (due to maps not being authenticated) where a 30% reduction in cost was indicated, the e-mail arrived today and the saga continues. After finding out the the 30% was from the original recommended retail price for the XT, not the current price on the Garmin website and having followed all the advice supplied by Garmin UK to no avail, a factory reset again; produced surprising results.
This reset has been carried out three times and each time the outcome is the same, the maps are still live and the routes still active and are asking to be recalculated when imported, also all speed and mileage data still present, it still can't authenticate the maps.
I can buy a new unit on the net for £19 more than Garmin want to Trade Up and I don't have to return my defective unit and wait for a replacement
Is this a first?

Re: Factory reset not working
How are you doing the reset ?
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
Links: Zumo 590/5 & BC . . . Zumo XT & BC
