Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
Hi, I have a Zumo XT, an Iphone 15 and a Cardo Packtalk Edge. For some reason, when I set up an itinerary, directions do not come thru Cardo or Zumo. All I can see is the map on Zumo but no audible directions. Volume is up on both units and I can hear conversations with other riders so no issue with speakers or volume. Any Idea? As it is all 3 units are connected to each others.I have tried turning on the units in different sequence order but it doesn't make any diffrence.

Also, the XT needs to be the hub so the phone should only be connected to the XT, not to the Cardo AND the XT.
FWIW, I have a Cardo Packtalk Bold. A lot of my riding is two-up with my wife, or connect to the Cardo of a riding buddy. I found the spoken navigation from the XT to be so disruptive to conversations that I turned off spoken navigation. I think the biggest problem with the XT is how long it takes to release the Cardo after spoken navigation has ended. I never found a way for comm and spoken navigation to coexist. The XT always silenced comm activity. Don't know if Cardo or Garmin is to blame. Hopefully the Edge handles this better.

Spoken Navigation is "ticked" so it should be ok.
I Will try again to disconnect the phone from Cardo. I think I tried before and it didn't change anything, but I am after trying so many things at this stage that I am a bit lost. Cheers guys.

Re: Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
I haven't checked if I can hear directions yet, but I can see that when I have the phone connected to XT, and XT connected to Cardo Edge (so phone not connected to Cardo Edge), If I receive a call, I can hardly hear anything. If the call goes via the phone straight to Cardo Edge, then volume is perfect. Technology or is it me

Re: Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
I assume that you have maxed the volume setting on the Edge so perhaps the volume for phone calls is set low in the Volume Mixer on the XT. The Volume Mixer allows you to set different volumes for Navigation, Media, Phone Calls, and Proximity Alerts. Access it by tapping the Volume button on the main XT screen.

Re: Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
Thanks Peobody. I got sick of it and sent an email to Cardo. Got a reply within the hour (not sure why I didn’t do it sooner…) and here is their answer:
“Let’s get your Zumo XT and Cardo Packtalk Edge Duo working together seamlessly. Here are the steps to set up navigation directions from your Zumo XT through the Cardo headset:
Configure the Cardo Packtalk Edge Duo:
Pair Your Phone: Pair your phone with the Cardo headset via Bluetooth.
DMC Intercom Mode: Set the Cardo headset to use “DMC Intercom Mode.”
Remove Extra Connections: Delete any Bluetooth connections between your phone and the Cardo headset.
Create an Intercom Group: Create an Intercom Group using the Rider Edge buttons.
Connect the Second Headset: Connect the Pillion Edge (your second headset) using the buttons on the Edge.
Pair the Zumo XT: Link the Zumo XT to the Rider Edge via Bluetooth (set it as a second phone, not as a GPS).
Check Phone Connections: Ensure your phone has no Bluetooth links to the Pillion Edge.
Pair the Zumo XT with Your Phone:
Proximity: Place the Zumo XT and your phone within 3 meters (10 feet) of each other.
Bluetooth Settings: Enable Bluetooth on your phone and set it to be discoverable.
Zumo XT Settings: On the Zumo XT, go to Settings > Wireless Networks.
Additional Tips:
Dual Connections: You can keep your Cardo connected to the phone via Bluetooth while still being connected to the Zumo XT. Just disable phone calls for the Cardo headset in its settings but allow phone calls for the Zumo XT. This way, you’ll have both communication and navigation working smoothly.”
And I have to say, so far, so good… I’ll try it on our journey Saturday

Is your phone an iPhone or an Android? I ask because wonder whether this particular option is one that can be done on an Android but not on an iPhone.Mariannepm wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 6:12 pm Dual Connections: You can keep your Cardo connected to the phone via Bluetooth while still being connected to the Zumo XT. @jfheath, I am wondering if this is the one you and I identified as not available on an iPhone.

Re: Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
No I dont think so. I was probably referring to the fact that the Android version of Drive can filter which alerting messages get sent to the XT eg social media, email, messenger .....
I prefer not to have the Cardo connected to the phone. I set the Cardo to connect to the XT /xt2 as phone 2 - which you do by rolling the wheel on the cardo. This makes it easy to connect the phone and the Edge as phone 1 - if you ever need to use the Cardo Connect app, It then does not affect the edge/xt/phone setup. But I always delete the phone connection to the edge - unpair it and if there is an option to forget it, then choose that too.
So Edge is only connected to XT as a second phone. You should be able to get sound from the Zumo through the Edge headset.
Then Pair the phone to the XT.
Edit. I dont have an apple phone, but I do have an ipad which the Xt thinks is a phone ! no problems
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
Links: Zumo 590/5 & BC . . . Zumo XT & BC

Re: Audible direction between Zumo and Cardo Edge
Seems to be a lot of confusion here.
I connected my Phone (android),The XT, and Edge
as directed in the Packtalk Edge on You Tube and have had not problems
