If so, the issue here may be Tread, not Basecamp.
I have the Tread application loaded on my iPhone, but I do NOT have the Explore application loaded. I don't believe there is any syncing between my iPhone and the XT2 going on.

The support person ran a couple of tests and then mentioned to me that Basecamp is not a supported platform with the Zumo XT2. He generated the GPX file using the Tread application and said it worked.

So there you have it. Basecamp is generating a GPX file that the Zumo XT2 doesn't know how to process. I now need to move to MyRoute-app.

I'm pretty sure that MRA users have had as much "fun" from the routing problems from routes generated in MRA as we have in Basecamp.

I have tread synching, and I wondered about that too, so I turned it off and tested again. No difference. I had this notion that maybe the routing was being done remotely and then transferred back ? I don't know why that popped into my head at the time, but something I observed triggered the thought.

I also wondered about doing what you said - using Waypoints set as shaping. I feel pretty sure that would work, but I haven't tried it.

But a cure seems to be to recalculate it on the XT2. Many routes that come from other route planners will recalculate anyway. So the problem will not arise. Its good that BC routes keep the plot in place. Then if there are issues, recalculate eg by changing avoidances.

I think I'd rather be aware that there is a potential issue than have Garmin 'fix' it by forcing all Basecamp routes to recalculate every route. It would take forever to get routes into the XT2. I thought at first they had done that by making Tread routes have the ZUmo Motorcyle profile name rather than 'Motorcycle'. (or 'motorcycling' - cant remember)

I'll have a go at the 5 point routes with waypoints and edit the gpx so that the coordinates are identical to what they were before.
But not today. Today I'm off to brave the Leeds festival traffic on the way to visit Mum.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
