660 External antenna socket name ?

Post by NeilP »

Just been wondering about fitting an external antenna on my 660.

I discovered the socket on the side after XX years owning it.

I had expected to need to drill holes in the case and solder on a BNC pigtail.. but on preparing to open it up I found the socket.

I see MCX-BNC Adapters, but the pictures make me think that is the wrong plug for that socket.

Anyone know for sure ?

I have one of those external antennas here (somewhere). I'll look it out and see if I can shed any light on the subject.
Do you already have an external antenna to use on your Z660?

Thank you

Yes, I have various GPS external antennas, all with BNC fittings

The MCX type adapters I have seen look more like the mini ones that are directly on the PCB.
The one on the side looks different.
