Hello everyone,
I need help with the bluetooth problems I have between the XT2 and phone. I have done tests with the 2 mobile phones we have at home (Xiaomi Poco X3 and 11 lite, 2 different Android versions and 2 different Bluetooth versions), with the same result.
- When I connect the phone to the XT2 and start adding collections, when there are enough of them, the Bluetooth connection between the two starts to fail. Skips the "reconnect to Garmin Tread" message.
- If I make or receive a phone call, after 1 or 2 minutes, the bluetooth connection drops and reconnects after 10-15 seconds.
The problem is the same with both phones.
I've tried installing and uninstalling the Tread app, forgetting bluetooth connections, even deleting the phone's bluetooth history. No result.
If I do a master reset of all, and connect the phone with the XT2 without Tread App, there is no problem in phone calls. Also if I install Tread App, but without Explore syncing, there is no problem neither with phone calls or notifications.
If I start to sync any collection in a phone call, bluetooth conexion crashes.
Does anyone have this same problem? can someone help me? I am already very desperate.
Thanks !

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
Afraid not, the Bluetooth connection between my Android Samsung A54 and the XT seems to be ok.
Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
as a summary, the only way I have to have a stable Bluetooth connection is to enable Tread App with all its options except collection synchronization.
Does anyone have that same problem with the XT2?
thanks

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
Are you connecting to a headset or similar?
What I have found is that for some headsets, phones and GPS Units, there can be only one (1) Bluetooth master. Bluetooth is a varying spectrum (no pun intended) of capabilities wrapped inside each technology release. BT 1.0 is not the same as BT 6.0 and the differences are vast. Your phone likely wants to be a master because it's normally the hub for all things like headphones, earbuds, mouse, keyboard, this gadget, that gadget, etc..
That said, your phone may be one version of BT, certainly the XT2 is another and your headset may be a third. All three are trying to understand each other, sometimes that goes awry. My situation is as follows: I have Sena SRL, XT2, Samsung S24 and all works great, no issues (for the most). My wife has Sena 50S, XT2, and Samsung S22, and it doesn't quite work right (music skips, out of sync, disconnects, etc.).
My recommendations is don't connect all to all, make one a master (I'd recommend the XT2), Connect your phone to XT2, connect your headset to XT2, but do NOT connect your phone and headset (independently) to each other. They will be connected through the XT2 in this case. This means when you get a call, it will route (no pun intended again) through the XT2 to your headset. This also means that any controls or settings regarding hear-through, muted or unmuted instructions while riding may or may not get through, your volume controls will be on the XT2, amongst other things.
Not sure if this solves your problem or helps but I have found it helpful in other situations. Hope is offers you some assistance too.

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
Thank you very much @technoguppy ,
I have everything connected as you indicate (phone and headphones to the XT2). My headphones are Cardo Packtalk Bold. I also believe that there is some incompatibility between versions of Bluetooth or something similar, as you indicate in your message. I tried with another phone but the result was the same. I can only leave the Explore cloud unsynced (it seems to free up a lot of bluetooth traffic this way).
I'll try to try it with my father's Samsung phone, to see if the problem repeats itself. Thank you very much for the response, I feel calmer knowing that the problem is not just mine.

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
Interestingly, I have an XT connected to an iPhone and a Cardo Packtalk Bold headset. I can not connect my wife's headset. To be more clear, it will connect, but will disconnect after several minutes. I have only messed with this twice. Both times it dropped her headset and not mine or the phone, perhaps because her headset was the last to connect. Fortunately, after just a few minutes of hearing voice navigation she decided she didn't like it so I never pursued a solution. Shortly thereafter it became a mute point because I found spoken navigation to be so disruptive to headset-to-headset communication that I started turning it off when riding two-up or in a group.

Thanks @Peobody ,
so, do you think that the problem can be in the headset and not in the mobile phone?
This is interesting, I´ve didn´t try without headset
Without headset there is no problem with syncing and all the weather or Petrol Station infos. How odd!
My setup is:
- Xiaomi Poco X3 (bluetooth 5.0)
- Cardo Packtalk Bold (bluetooth 5.1?)
Maybe there are incompatibilities

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
I think (a scary thing) that the XT just won't reliably handle 3 bluetooth connections although I would think that a motorcycle satnav that is designed to function with a connected phone and headset would handle a pillion headset too. I never spent any time troubleshooting so I don't have any good answers. All I can do is share my experience.
I am pretty certain that the headset-to-headset connection was not affecting the headset-to-XT connection because the former was with the Cardo DMC mode whereas the later was bluetooth.

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
In my case I have found a "provisional" solution:
- I connect the Cardo Packtalk Bold to the Zumo on the "phone 2" channel. On both the XT2 and the Phone I deactivate the "calls" function. This way I can listen to music and the XT2 radars without interruptions.
- I will try to connect the "phone 1" channel with the TFT of my motorcycle, only with the "calls" option, without "multimedia". Let's see if it's possible.

Re: Need help: Bluetooth problems XT2
Yesterday I did quite a few tests with 3 phones, and the conclusion is that Samsung seems to have better Bluetooth connectivity with the Garmin:
- Xiaomi POCO X3 : The bluetooth is interrupted during calls, and after a few minutes also with multimedia (music, etc.).
- Xiaomi 11 lite Pro : The bluetooth is interrupted during calls, and after a few minutes also with multimedia (music, etc.).
- Samsung A33: Stable bluetooth connection, I haven't done long tests, but it doesn't seem to interrupt like the other phones.
It can be interesting when changing mobile phones, because it can affect the use of the XT2. In my case I have ordered an A55 256/8Gb because I don't trust the new Xiaomi ones with Bluetooth too much. We will see.
