What do you do to pay the bills?

I am a frame and truss detailer.Amost every house in NZ is built with timber wall frames and timber nail plated roof trusses.We basically redraw the architects plans into our own software which then outputs to computer controlled saws and truss bed.

Some say that I'm "semi-retired" though I don't feel like sometimes... I spent 13 years as an electrician for a contractor, then I've been the last 21+ years as a maintenance electrician at a nursing home for veterans.

In the days before disposable electronics, we actually fixed things. As an old guy, I still do industrial electrical and electronic work for a division of a large corporation.

during the last 6 weeks of having fun I rode from California to New Jersey and did 3800 miles then last week did 1800 miles riding in va. nc and sc so still able to hold the bike upright at 70 (age not speed)

Just thought I would add my 2p worth. I just discovered the thread.

I used to work in a Finance department until a year ago, then I moved to Sales Steering for a Container Firm. (The firms with very large ships, with lots of Containers on board.)

Stressful, but very rewarding.

After eight years on Navy nuclear subs spent the next 39 working on partivle accelerators - the last 17 of that teaching engineers and operators. Now retired and working on old motorcycles plus beginning to tour on our '06 GoldWing with the wife. Plus spending far too many hours on internet forums.
