Making it more difficult is that where normally sync between 2 devices, here we have 3 (ZUMO, your mobile, Garmin cloud).
And even more the tread app that also does change the file.

What is strange is that there normally should be nothing to sync, since nothing is changing !

The only thing I can think of is the current route !

So my question is : does this also happens when riding without a active route, just riding without routing ?
And if not what happens it you ride to address (and not a saved GPS route)
It happens always the syncing is activated. No matters if there is active route or not. If Tread App is activated with syncing, problems start.

okay,

well in that case Garmin should go for a quick and dirty solution (until problem is solved) and that is bring in a a choice - sync automatically or manual..

When manual then new button sync now.

Has anyone else reported this problem to Garmin? What solutions have they offered you? The only thing they have told me is to "disable synchronization while this problem is solved." Basically, it's like saying "use cable like in the 90s" lol

I've done some more testing, and when XT2/Tread App/Android Mobile have Explore cloud sync enabled...

- As soon as we add enough imported tracks through the Tread app, the synchronization seems to become more unstable. Sometimes the app disconnects from the XT2 asking you to "reconnect to Tread App" in our Explore library bar on the XT2.

- Likewise, it seems to disconnect the bluetooth connection between XT2/phone/intercom, causing the bluetooth connections to reboot every few minutes.

I think there is a lot of development work to be done on Tread App to make the connectivity reliable. It is unfortunate that users have to suffer this :cry:

I have recorded a video where you can see the problem described. Everything installed from 0, Tread App with synchronization active. A random track downloaded from wikiloc is imported, and a call is then made (without a call synchronization and bluetooth are also interrupted).



As seen in the video, the Bluetooth connection of the phone and the intercom is cut off for about 10 seconds, and is reestablished. The same goes for syncing with Tread and the Explore cloud. It is a disaster of syncing and bluetooth connectivity.

Not this particular issue - but I have videos and logs recorded on both XT2 and Samsung (at the request of product suppport), which show that once a call has started, if Synch is enabled, it can be impossible to end the conversation. The buttons do not work. After about 2-3 minutes the XT2 destroys the BT connections and the BT links are then re-established - turning the music player on in the process.

I mentioned your case and suggested that while it is not the same, it may well be related - as it happens in the same circumstances. Tread synching, Phone call in progress, BT resets.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Yes, exactly. It happens in several ways, but with the call it is the most obvious. The XT2's bluetooth connections are reset.

I have sent videos, Bluetooth recording logs when it occurs (XT2 in fault recording mode from the developer menu), all kinds of data from Tread App, etc. No solution.

I have also tried different versions of Android and phones, and different XT2s. No solution.

6 months with this problem and 0 solution.

We will have to pass on the bill for all the hours invested to Garmin. :lol:

According to what Garmin has told me this week, when we import Tracks originating from Basecamp (I'm talking about Tracks, not routes), it is NORMAL FOR THEY TO PRODUCE INTERRUPTIONS IN THE BLUETOOTH. Oh really?

What are Garmin engineers thinking? How will I know if some tracks that are sent to me via WhatsApp originate from Basecamp or not? What kind of engineers are there at Garmin? :shock: :lol:

Therefore I am testing importing gpx with and without origin in Basecamp, to see if the bluetooth interruptions are reproduced or not. Very unfortunate Garmin.

Of course, now I am realizing that some gpx that I download from Wikiloc produce the cuts, and others do not (nothing to do with point limits, etc. since very heavy gpx and tracks can be loaded without any problem). The problem is, if the author has created the gpx with Basecamp, or has used Basecamp to edit them, the wonderful XT2 starts to reset the bluetooth because according to Garmin THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE, and it is "NORMAL" for that to happen. :shock:

Second part of the video. In this case you see the complete sequence starting from 0. Empty Tread App.



- Cardo Packtalk Bold (the same thing happens with any type of intercom or headset, for example my Sony).
- Poco X7 Pro with Android 15 (the same thing happens in tests with 2 other Android 12 and 14 phones that I have tested)
- Zumo XT2

1- As seen in the video, a random track chosen from Wikiloc in this case is uploaded, uploaded to the Tread App on the mobile and expected to synchronize. Tread App and our library is empty.
2- Then, we receive (or make, it doesn't matter) a phone call. We left the call going.
3- Tread app is continually syncing the library looking for new items. In this case nothing happens until minute 4:04 (sometimes it happens in 30 seconds and other times like this you have to wait a few minutes for the call).
Bluetooth interruptions and disconnections begin. You can see that both the Bluetooth of the phone and that of the Cardo are disconnected from the XT2, and after a while they are reconnected.

Garmin, what's going on here?
