I am using Basecamp on a MacBook with Sonoma 14.06.01 togheter with a X2 and it just works perfectly. No problem connecting the X2 and no problem planning or following the rutes I made in Basecamp. I recently upgraded from a Zumo 395 which I used for 8 years. I really like Basecamp and I hope I can keep using it.
But I worry that upgrading the MacBook IOS to the latest Sequoia will give me problems. Anyone who has tryed?
Basecamp with latest IOS Sequoia
Re: Basecamp with latest IOS Sequoia
Recently updated from an M1 iMac (Sequoia 15.0 then 15.1) to M4 Mac Mini (ex delivery with 15.0 then requiring 15.1 for the USB-C BT peripherals). I am using Basecamp + AFT and no issues even after the OS migration. Keep Maps and Express updated. The above using a Garmin XT2 unit.

New IOS Sequoia 15.1 works perfect with Basecamp and my XT2 connects without a problem. I can create routes and waypoints in Basecamp and just drag and drop them to the XT2.
Re: Basecamp with latest IOS Sequoia
Glad to hear Basecamp and your XT2 are working smoothly on Sequoia 15.1! It's always reassuring when an OS upgrade doesn't mess up your workflow. Thanks for sharing your experience - it'll help others who might be hesitant about updating.
Re: Basecamp with latest IOS Sequoia
I am finding that Basecamp is not usable on my Sequoia 15.2 M2 Macbook Pro - very frequently the window vanishes, and MacOS offers to send a crash report. I can sometimes manage to create a very small route but most manipulations of routes cause the crash. I wonder if there's something weird going on with my Basecamp install, since it seems like other people are using it successfully. I don't have much preserved data in it so I suppose wiping and reinstalling wouldn't be that awful, but I'd like an idea if it works ok for anyone first, I guess.
Re: Basecamp with latest IOS Sequoia
I am using Garmin BaseCamp Version 4.8.13 for Apple with City Navigator North America NT 2025.2 with a very large data base of several hundred routes and thousands of WayPoints with no problems.
I am using a MacBook 16 with a M3 Pro Chip and 36 GB Ram and macOS Sequoia 15.3 with no problems.
The only issues I have is when I try to eject my BMW Nav6 GPS.
I can import routes, export routes as GPX with no problems.
Maybe it has something to do with your Waypoint names or your security settings in Sequoia?

Before doing a "nuke and repave," I'd try deleting the BC preferences file. You will have to re-do your preferences, but that's a lot less work than starting from scratch. You can test by removing the plist file from its location and run BC. If that is not the problem, just put it back.epv wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 8:38 am I am finding that Basecamp is not usable on my Sequoia 15.2 M2 Macbook Pro - very frequently the window vanishes, and MacOS offers to send a crash report.
