BBBike.org map extracts

Since the demise of openstreetmap.nl, I've been trying BBBike.org to get Garmin maps of more obscure areas, in this case, Morocco.

BBBike.org works brilliantly, except that I have the choice of Latin1 or UTF-8 character sets. I suspect I need UTF-8 (maybe as some Arabic characters?) but unfortuantely when I start my Zumo XT with a UTF-8 IMG file, I get a message that the file is corrupt and unusable.

So Latin1 works, but most place names are appended with a large number of ????? question marks etc, which is extremely annoying!

Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

As is often the case, when I am looking for other things online, I run across something that I was looking for in the past. I think the reason you were getting the message: Maps Are Corrupt And Cannot Be Used is because you added a map in UTF-8. In retrospect, perhaps you should have used maps in Latin-1 format.
