Has anyone used plotaroute.com? I just tried it, letting it create a route to a spot in a nearby national forest that I regularly ride in. I was pleasantly surprised with the result. It routed along some rural roads that I have not yet ridden on. I'm excited to ride the route it produced. I was able to export it as a .gpx and then import it into Basecamp. The route imported as designed. I replaced the start and end points with ones from the Basecamp database, added some route points to control recalculation damage, recalculated, then got it on my XT. I now just need to ride it.
This was my first attempt with plotaroute.com. I was very pleased with the results of my simple test. I didn't attempt to figure out how to add interim route points so don't know whether they would pass as route points in the export. I am hoping for some Pros and Cons feedback before spending more time with it.
